Pool Hero

This summer my swimming pool was not regularly cleaned and by the end of summer had a lot of debris on the floor and the water was a greenish brown colour. Daniel Posniak of Pool Hero made a fantastic job of cleaning the pool and ensuring that it has stayed clean since then. 

Daniel has been super-quick with providing quotes for elements that need replacing and has installed the new equipment speedily, efficiently and effectively as soon as he has had the go-ahead.  His prices have been very reasonable. There has never been any come-back on the services rendered. He has also offered really good advice on pool maintenance and I have full confidence in his judgement on anything related to pool maintenance.

Sand Change

Sand Change

Swimming pool filter sand should be changed every 18-24 months depending on how much greenery around the pool. However if the pool has been sitting stagnant for 3 or more months we recommend changing the sand.

Weekly Pool Services

Do you want to relax when you get home, prefer to watch the sport or spend time with the family instead of looking after the swimming pool? Well let Pool Hero look after your pool. Weekly pool services consist of:

-Call-out

-Chemicals (balancing the pool)

-Cleaning both the weir and motor baskets

-Backwashing and rinsing the pool

-Brushing and taking out leaves

-Vacuuming if need/no automatic pool cleaner

We don't believe in high chlorine counts, however if the Ph, Alkalinity, Chlorine and Stabilizer levels are correct the pool won't go green and that's what we provide...Balanced Pools, blue all year round.

Monthly costs are determined by the area and size of the pool. Email a picture with length x width of the pool plus area situated in and we'll send back a free quote.

We are based in St Andrews and operate all over Johannesburg.

Pool pumps

The main questions when buying a pool pump are: 

What size pool do you have?
Do you have multiple fountains that require extra pressure?
How far is your filter from your pool?
Do you have solar panels and how far from the pump?
Most important in this day and age, How much electricity does it consume?

We deal with two different makes/types of pumps:

Quality Superflow pool pumps

0.6Kw -> 1.5Kw range,
These pumps run at a constant of the desired Kw per hour and not regulated.

Pentair IntelliFlo

This is a high performance motor that is regulated, these motors can cut your electricity costs of up to 90% of run time.
